Spoiler alert: it’s me.

Assetto Corsa / SRS / Mazda MX-5 Cup / VIR North Course

It’s only my second time ever trying to actually use OBS so I’m still figuring some things out. Also I am not a good driver. But whatever. Playing with imaginary race cars is still fun.

I have no illusions of “making it big” on YouTube but if I’m going to be sitting on my PC playing games anyway, I might as well share.

I also put up a 40-min video showcasing the new “L.A. Canyons” free-roam track mod for AC, which reached its 1.0 release on Sunday, but I screwed up the audio so my commentary gets drowned out with engine noise. Some might say that’s a plus; judge for yourself.

I barely expected anyone to watch it, but I certainly didn’t expect anyone to live-tweet the experience... LOL

Glad you enjoyed it; I likewise enjoyed your meta-commentary. ^_^

The trackside textures in AC do seem a bit faded compared to real life and even other sims. (Having been to VIR, I can tell you that the grass is WAY greener on the real side of the fence.) The new mods like Sol and the Shaders Patch have helped this somewhat, but the quality of lighting that comes with the stock weather patterns (which AC still uses) are still sort of bleh. Other than that, AC still holds up, especially considering its age.

And yes, by the time the race started, it was about 01:20; I was definitely feeling like I should have gone to bed about two hours earlier. ^_^’
